There are private companies specialized in getting Visas very rapidly for a couple of bucks.

Should you be forced to try and get yourself a visa from the Russian embassy in Paris, for example, you definitely would never try again: The embassy is open at 9 in the morning till an indefinite time!!!. You will have to queue several hours directly in the street (arriving if possible before 7am), and after queuing 3 hours outside under the rain, there is a high probability that you will be told that (even before entering the embassy) you have to come and try again the next morning (of course without being sure to enter the embassy the next morning. If you are lucky, you will enter the embassy and queue one or two additional hours, but this time inside the building, or rather the "blockhaus". The classical answer from a Russian employee in this embassy is: "this is not my problem".

These companies specialized in getting visa do not queue (probably do they bribe for quicker access) and as they manage a lot of files at the same time, they know exactly what you need to get your visa. Their cost (from 40 to 60 USD) is negligible in comparison with the one of doing it yourself, especially if you take into account the time lost and the related stress.
