Citizenship requirements Most searches managed by AIC do not require any specific citizenship, except in some very specific cases. European Union Commission tenders (EU tenders are now open to non EU citizens) Since 2006, the European Commission does not limit anymore citizenships to EU or beneficiary countries for tenders funded by its general budget. EU tenders are now open to non EU citizens This applies to all tenders financed by the EC general budget, but not to EDF / FED tenders. Legally speaking, it results from 2 new EU regulations which entered into force on 28.12.2005: USAID tender USAID is essentially employing American citizens and citizens from the beneficiary country. However, USAID is also employing some EU citizens or citizens from other countries, even if their number is relatively small. World Bank tenders The World Bank citizenship discrimination is nearly non existent as most countries in the world are members of this internatinal institution. Asian Development Bank tenders The ADB also discriminates in that sense that only Citizenship from ADB member countries may apply as experts to be included in tender launched by this Development Agency. However, this list of country members is very large. It includes most EU countries as well of course as most Asian countries. Before answering a search for experts advertised by AIC, be sure that you have the appropriate citizenship. Any restriction will be clearly indicated in the title of the search for experts. |
